You hadn't heard of it because Microsoft commissioned it specifically for word. They wanted a font that would look okay-ish virtually everywhere, because they knew nobody changed the defaults. TNR looks like shit on the web, arial looks dumb printed, there wasn't really a good option for a generalist typeface. So Microsoft invented one.

Refer the steps mentioned below to remove and re-add the language: Press Windows key + I, to open Settings. Click on Time & Language and select Language on the left pane. For anyone else with the same problem: go into Design Mode, then record a macro of you creating a new rich text content control. Add a shortcut for the macro to a ribbon, along with Bold. This way you can easily insert fields, and check that they aren't bolding when they shouldn't. (You don't have to be in Design Mode to do the inserts.)
Tamil fonts not working. Hi - I recently bought a Windows 11 laptop and installed Office 365. I create a lot of documents in Tamil language and have used Inaimathi TSC Font in the past. However with this new machine, these fonts are not appearing correctly. The system defaults to Vijaya font which is not what I want.

You can use different, related, styles in different sections if you want, but I wouldn't. Whether applying a style to a paragraph will changed direct formatting depends on how much direct formatting is there.
